Bronze
sculpture of a rearing horse titled, 'Roman Horse', edition number 4 of 50was created in 1988, by colorado artist Peter E. Tonella. The Horse,
mounted on a rosa quartz marble base, is one of three remaining pieces from the original edition. The mold is obsolete
and no additional pieces will be produced.
Sculpture Theme: This magnificent sculpture
is a rejuvenation of the classic style of the Renaissance period. A transitional movement during the fifteenth century
where Europe emerged from the Middle Ages into the modern world. The original sculpture 'Roman Horse' was created in wax,
and casted in bronze using the Lost wax method. The piece is beautifully finished with an aged multi-color patina. The bronze sculpture is one of three remaining pieces fron the original edition. |
