The Bronze sculpture, 'White-tail',
illustrates a wilderness setting of two deer commonly found in
North
American. The name comes from the deer's habit of raising its tail
when alarmed, showing
the white beneath, which serves to alert other deer. Although the white-tail deer is a good runner and swimmer, it
prefers
to hide rather than run great distances. It is active at
night and
sleeps in underbrush, which provides a good cover.
The original sculpture is carved in wax, casted
in bronze, and finished with
colored patinas and detailed with paint. Each numbered bronze is
part of a limited edition consisting of 30.
Height 14 inches, Length 20 inches (including granite and walnut
base).
